Ukraine is marking one year since anti-government protests in the capital, Kyiv, ended in clashes that left more than 100 dead and sent then-president Viktor Yanukovych fleeing to Russia.Despite a change in government, no one has been held accountable for the deaths and the families of many victims are skeptical they will ever see justice.

19-year-old Roman Guryk was a bit of a rebel but he cared deeply about his two little sisters, his friends, and a European future for Ukraine.

When his fellow unarmed, anti-government protesters came under fire a year ago outside the Ukraine Hotel, says his father Igor, Roman helped evacuate the wounded.

"The second time he came up there was a group of people, 8 or 10, and he came with them last in line. And they were holding on there . And, you could see on the video there were barricades over there. And, from there they were shooting at this side."

As Roman tried to help more demonstrators he was shot, once in the head, a victim of mysterious snipers who added to a death toll of more than 100 during clashes with riot police.

A year later nobody has been held accountable for the killings around Kyiv's central square. Roman's mother Iryna says she has little faith that justice will be served.
