Chile's President is vowing to rebuild the port of Valparaiso after wildfires that are still burning destroyed nearly three thousand homes and killed 15 people.

On Wednesday, President Michelle Bachelet met with some of the people displaced and injured by fire. The president has said Valparaiso should be reconstructed to prevent wildfire victims from rebuilding on hills that cannot be protected from disasters.

Authorities say it could take another 20 days to put out the fire which started on Saturday.
