The Obama administration is urging calm about the Ebola case diagnosed in the U.S.

"I want to emphasize that the United States is prepared to deal with this crisis, both at home and in the region. Every Ebola outbreak over the past 40 years has been stopped. We know how to do this and we will do it again"
The U.S. is sending nearly 2,000 troops to Liberia to help abate the Ebola outbreak, which has killed more than 3,000 people across western Africa.
The U.S. is also trying to allay fears concerning Ebola at home. A Liberian national, Thomas Duncan, is in serious but stable condition at a Texas hospital after contracting Ebola before leaving Liberia for the United States.
Authorities have helped resettle his family out of concerns of Ebola the virus could be spread.

Officials are monitoring at least 50 people who may have come in contact with Duncan.
A spokeswoman with the U.S. based Centers for Disease Control (Dr. Beth Bell ) says officials are being "extremely cautious" with those contacts but added that such caution does not imply "a high level of concern."
