Several hundred demonstrators marched through the eastern U.S. city of Baltimore, just north of Washington, protesting the death of a black man while in police custody.
Saturday's march began where Freddie Gray was arrested on April 12.
The demonstration was mostly peaceful until police had to confront several people who vandalized their patrol cars.
Gray suffered a spinal chord injury while in custody and died a week after his arrest.
Gray's funeral is set for Monday. Police admitted to not giving Gray immediate medical assistance and securing him before he was transported in a police van following his arrest.
Six officers involved in Gray's case are on leave with pay.
The Baltimore police department says it will release information on its investigation of the incident late next week.
