Max: Yes, cars are getting bigger.

Actually, I’ve been thinking about getting a bigger car.
Kathy: Really, Max?
What kind of car do you drive now?
Max: Oh, it’s a small car, a compact.
For me, it’s fine, but now that that my son is growing up, we need a bigger car.
Eliz: Well, I can understand that.
If you have children, you need a bigger car.
But this morning, I saw lots of single people in these great big cars!
Kathy: I don’t know. Maybe they feel safer in a big car.
Max: And they want to look good.
Kathy: Uh hunh.
