Clashes erupted on the streets Burkina Faso’s capital Thursday after thousands of demonstrators stormed the nation's parliament and trashed the state television offices. Lawmakers had been due to vote on Thursday on a government plan to change the constitution to allow President Compaore, who took power in a coup in 1987, to run for re-election next year, when he was due to step down.
