A 200-meter-high chimney, built from about 7,000 tons of concrete, bricks and steel, is brought down in a controlled explosion at Port Kembla, south of Sydney, Australia. Nearly 1,000 explosive charges were placed around the copper stack, which broke into at least two pieces just before hitting the ground as thousands of people gathered to watch the explosion.
