Security measures were heightened at all of Australia's major airports after four men were arrested in raids in Sydney last Saturday after authorities received what it called a credible threat. The increased measures led to major delays and long lines of frustrated travelers.
One of the men arrested in the raids has since been released. No charges have been filed against the other three men.
Officials have not released details of the plot, only saying the plot involved an improvised explosive device. Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, said Tuesday it was working with Australian police in the investigation, but would not say if it was a target.
