Alexandra Opens Up to VOA about Her School and Singing Career

While Alexandra continues her higher education in Keio University in Japan, she still finds time to do charity work. In the past Alexandra had helped many charity organizations in Laos, including the Shanti Volunteer Association of Japan. This time around, Alexandra was asked again to help raise fund to build more schools for those unfortunate ones in Laos. Alexandra will be performing a live concert in Japan on the Jan 31, 09.

“I’ve worked with the Shanti Volunteer Association before back in Laos, as Emcee. This time, I’ll be singing live along with Laotian children in Japan that the Lao Embassy helped sponsor. This concert will showcase the Laos’ culture and traditions through music and performances. I’ll be singing my songs from the past album, my grandfather’s song and Japanese song as well. The Japanese song is by famous Japanese songwriter, whom I like very much,” she told VOA.

Alexandra also mentioned to us that she will be working for a while after finish her master degree. “I miss my fan club already. I’ve been here in Japan almost a year. I’ll have another year and nine months to finish the program.

Higher Education is something that I always want to do, and yet entertainment is something that I enjoy. I will be around in the entertainment arena, I’ve come a long way and I love it. And to the fan club out there, be patient and wait for me. I’ll bring you new songs and a new album to you all once I finish my schooling,” she concluded.

It’s not easy to pick and choose between education and fame. But for now, Alexandra picks her education over her fame so that she will always have something to fall back on. Alexandra is what I call a “role model” for a new generation, to be smart and be in charge in order to stand proud.
