7/02/06 World News: Israel Aircraft Attack Office of Palestinian Prime Minister


Israel-Palestinians: Israeli aircraft have attacked the Gaza City Office of Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, in a continuing offensive aimed at forcing militants to free an Israeli soldier captured last Sunday. Mr. Haniyeh , a Hamas leader, was not inside teh office at the time of the attack that set the buildind ablaze early today.

Iraq: Iraqi officials say slain terror al-Qaida in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has been buried in an undisclosed location in the country. Iraqi National Security Advisor Mouwaffak al-Rubaie made the announcement today. The U.S. military confirmed the burial but declined to give more details.

Afghanistan Violence: The British military says two of its soldiers have been killed in southern Afghanistan in an attack by insurgents. British officials say the attack took place last night in the Sangin district of Helmand province.

Iran-Nuclear: Iran has again rejected a deadline to respond to an international office aimed at resolving a standoff over its controversial nuclear program.
