Demonstrators in London marched from Marble Arch to Parliament.

The three-year-old Syrian refugee who died trying to reach Greece has become a symbol for supporters of the migrants.

Barefoot marches in support of migrants took place in cities across Italy on Friday.  This group reached the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival.

Not all the demonstrations were in support of migrants.  Right wing nationalists demonstrated Saturday against proposed quotas for Poland. Anti-migrants demonstrations have also been held in Hungary, Slovakia and other countries.

Migrants and refugees continue to make the sometimes dangerous journey to Europe. These Syrian refugees arrived in a small boat on the Greek island of Lesbos.

A gang of prison inmates worked Friday on the 3.5 meter high barrier along the full length of the  Hungarian-Serbian border.

Syrian refugees carry a man on their way to cross the border from Greece into Macedonia on Saturday. Macedonia is considering building a border like Hungary's to stem the influx of migrants from the south.
