More than 100 French troops have arrived in Ivory Coast to support French forces after air and ground clashes with Ivorian government troops. A French government spokesman said the soldiers were deployed from a base in the central African nation of Gabon.

Iraqi police say insurgents have killed 21 people in attacks against police stations at dawn today west of Baghdad. A number of the victims are said to be policemen shot dead execution style. Authorities say a large number of insurgents stormed the police stations at Haditha and the nearby town of Haqlaniya, located along the Euphrates River in western Iraq.

Burma's ruling military has accused ex-Prime minister khin Nyunt of corruption, and says he was ousted to prevent the disintegration of the country's military. The once-powwerful prime minister was removed from office on Oct. 19 and placed under house arrest.
