Investors of the controversial NT2 hydropower project express confident that the World Bank will consider granting them loan guarantees by the beginning of 2005 at the latest, and have begun to develop the infrastructures needed for the project.
The group hopes to receive a loan guarantee of $850 million to build the 1.2 billion-dollar dam. It expects to complete the project and begin exporting electricity to Thailand in 2009, in accordance with an agreement signed with EGAT.
