Noi wears many hats, running multiple projects at once. She is a registered architect, a secretary, a new broadcaster, a dance instructor, a singer and currently, a founder and project director in Syhom Elementary School. Noi gets involve in teaching these poor school children by visiting Syhom School after returning from Australia.
She told VOA that…”Once I came back form Australia, I went back to my grade school where I did my early education. What I saw was amazed me
of how poorly the school operation. Syhom School situated in a center of a middle and upper income area of Vientiane city and I don’t understand why, the school has these condition and opreated poorly. My first impression was that...Waht can I do and how can help out? I start then to do a small project teach these children to learn how to sing and perform, I use my home as a small theatre where these kids can be who they are. I have a small room and a mirror for them to see how they act and perform. Further more,
I also have little over two hundred books for them to read and make their world to themselves.”
In a recent visiting in America, Noi wanted to create awareness for Laotian American in the United States of the grace tradition of Lao Culture through her music and performances. She also mentioned that by doing so will established a good relationship and bridge the gab between Laotian American community and Laotians in Laos to continue support, maintain and sustain Laotian culture for the future generation.
Noi Sengsouringa concluded our VOA interview that she will continue to support and manage her already established organization for these school children at Syhom Elementary School.
