There has been a jail break at a high security prison near Haiti's capital, Port-Au-Prince.
Authorities in the Caribbean nation say an unspecified number of inmates convicted or accused of drug trafficking and kidnapping for ransom escaped from the prison in Croix-des-Bouquets on Sunday.
Among them was Clifford Brandt who faces charges of kidnapping.
Witnesses say the prison break followed a group of armed men storming the building.
Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe went to the scene where anti-riot police were dispatched.
Prior to the prison break, the relatively new facility, financed by Canada, held about 800 inmates.
