Laos' Import-Export Tax Revenues Will Fall After Implementation of ASEAN Free Trade Agreement - 2005-03-11


The founding members of the ASEAN grouping have agreed to speed up the establishment of their free trade zone. It is expected that import-export tax revenues for Laos will fall at an average of 30-40% once AFTA is in place.

Laos along with the other new members of ASEAN is expected to begin implementing AFTA in 2008.
