The value of the Lao currency Kip has fluctuated significantly in the last few weeks, rising against the U.S dollar while declining against the Thai Baht. The official exchange rate has gone from 10,400 Kip per dollar in late January to 10,846 Kip in the first week of February to the current rate of about 10,300 Kip to a dollar, while the exchange rate for the Thai Baht has gone down from 265 Kip to 270 Kip to a Baht.
