Laos declares progress in the implementation of its socio-economic development plan for the first quarter of 2004-2005, noting continued economic growth with a 5.7% reduction in inflation from 13.6% during 2003-04 to 7.8%. That is the first time in ten years that the inflation has been brought down to a single-digit rate, while overall domestic and foreign investment rose 54%, worth almost $55 million with 44 new projects.
