Laos' reaction to the passage of U-S/ Lao Trade Normalization. Lao government considered normal trade status with the U-S as a new step in economic and trade relations between the two countries. As to why Lao government is condemned for Human Rights violations, Lao official counters that it is the result of fabrications by the Hmong groups and the bad elements abroad.
