Thailand says it spends over ten billion Bahts each year to fight illegal trade along the borders with its neighbors, primarily Laos, Burma, and Cambodia. It is therefore imperative that Thailand helps and supports its neighbors in their comprehensive economic development through what it calls an "economic cooperation strategy".
