Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin has resigned his last official post as military chief, handing full power to his successor, President Hu Jintao. The official Xinhua news agency says the Communist Party's Central Committee accepted the resignation of the 78-year-old former leader today (Sunday). It approved his 61-year-old successor to take over as chairman of the party's Central Military Commission.

An Iranian official says Tehran rejects any outside limitations on its uranium enrichment program, and will stop allowing snap inspections of nuclear facilities if the matter is sent to the U.N. Security Council.

United Nations nuclear inspectors are in Seoul to investigate South Korea's past unauthorized nuclear experiments. The four-member International Atomic Energy Agency team (which arrived today / Sunday) is on a week-long mission to visit state nuclear facilities and interview personnel.
