Fierce fighting between U.S forces and Shi'ite militants in Baghdad's Sadr city neighborhood has killed at least one US soldier and more than 30 Iraqis. The U.S military say the fighting began late Monday when U.S troops on routine patrol came under attack. The fighting was reported continuing today (Tuesday).

Indonesia;s army chief says the Association of Southeast Asian Nations meeting, which began Monday in Jakarta, is aimed at strengthening anti-terrorism efforts amond ASEAN members to prevent cross-border terrorism.
