Thailand has launched a campaign to discourage Thai employers from hiring illegal workers from Laos, Cambodia, and Burma, saying those who do will be severely punished.
Out of the estimated several hundred thousand illegal foreign workers, less than 200,000 from Laos took part in the official registration period that ended July 31.
