Unqualified Hmong Begin to Leave Wat Thamkrabok - 2004-08-28

About 2,000 Hmong people from northern Thailand who had entered Wat Thamkrabok in Sarabury province, hoping to be part to the ongoing US resettlement program, today(Saturday) began to leave the monastery and go back to where they had come from, at the end of the deadline imposed by Thai authorities.

Our Bangkok stringer reports that the Hmong left voluntarily for fear of persecution by Thai authorities who had given them 72 hours to do so.

Listen to our report for more details.
