Hmong-Americans Reached End of March to Plead the World for Humanitarian Aid. - 2004-08-19

Cheered by hundreds of supporters, a dozen Hmong-American men led by Zong Khang Yang arrived in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday August 18, ending their 1,200 miles march from St. Paul, Minnesota.

The goal of the "Long Walk for Freedom", according to walk leader Zong Khang Yang, is to plead the U.S. and world leaders to work with the Lao government to stop the aggression against the Hmong groups in the jungles of Laos, to allow the United Nations to investigate the reported aggression, and allow humanitarian aid for the concerned Hmong and other minority groups.
