Laos is confident it will be able to eradicate opium growth throughout the country by 2005 as targeted, and will be completely free of drug problems by the year 2015 in accordance with an agreement signed with its ASEAN partners. But as our stringer in Bangkok reports, it is facing a monumental task and will most likely not able to reach its targeted goals.
