Ms. Ly Vang, the president of the Association for the Advancement of Hmong Women in Mineapolis, Minnesota, talks to VOA about the arrival of a group of Hmong refugees, the first of thousands expected to arrive in Minnesota this year and the assistance her organization and other service providers in the area will provide for the new arrivals.
She says Mr. XOU XIONG, his wife, seven sons, his sister-in-law and her husband arrived in Minneapolis last week. While waiting for full support from the community, Mr. Xiong and his family will for now stay with their relatives.
