A militant group in Iraq led by suspected al-Qaida linked terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has freed three Turkish hostages it was threatening to kill.In a video broadcast by Arabic language Al-Jazeera television, a msked man said his group decided to release the hostages for "the sake of Muslims in Turkey."

President Bush says Islamic countries should not fear the spread of democracy. In a speech today in Istanbul where he has been attending the NATO summit, Mr. Bush said freedom is the future of the Middle East and all humanity.

Laos receives an 18-million-dollar loan from ADB to improve it transport network; and Vietnam detains at least six people with 80 kilograms of heroin from Laos.
