Thailand plans to open negotiations on contracts to purchase more power from Laos in addition to the deal to purchase electricity from the NT2 dam.
However, whether or not Thailand will really buy power from Laos depends on whether and how long the NT2 project receives a loan guarantee from international financial institutions.
