Red Cross officials say a catastrophic railway explosion in North Korea, near the Chinese border, has killed at least 54 people, injured more than 12-hundred and wrecked thousands of homes.

A U-S court has ordered a Vietnamese-American man accused of plotting to blow up the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok to be extradited to Thailand.

China reported two confirmed cases of SARS today, and says a woman who was suspected of having the respiratory disease has died.

A huge fire has virtually destroyed a slum area of Bangkok, leaving several thousand people homeless. Officials in the Thai capital say the fire raced through the densely populated Thung Mahamek district in a matter of hours today.
