Afghanistan's interim President Hamid Karzai says landmark presidential elections will take place in September--three months later than originally scheduled. Speaking to reporters in Kabul, Mr. Karzai said the delay will allow the United Nations to administer both presidential and parliamentary elections at the same time.

Voters in Georgia are electing a new parliament. The poll was called after the country's Supreme Court partially annulled last November's ballot over allegations of vote-rigging.

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra met with top security officials today (Sunday) after a bomb hit a tourist district in the Muslim south , injuring 28 people. The bomb exploded late Saturday in a tourist district in Sungai Kolok, a town on the boder with Malaysia. Several of the injured were Malaysian tourists.
