Thailand confirms it will provide half of the construction cost, about 1.5 billion Bahts, for the third bridge linking Houay Say in Laos’ Bokeo province to Chiengkhong, in Thailand’s Chiengrai province, and asks Laos and China to share the rest of the cost.
Thailand also says it will help Laos find financing for its share of the cost, and that China should also chip in since it will also benefit from the bridge, which will connect to Route 3 that stretches north to China's Yunnan province.
