The latest explosion occurred Friday morning in a restroom at a town market in Khanthabouly, Savannakhet. Authorities blamed "bad elements" who, they say, are trying to undermine peace and stability in Laos.
This was a second bomb blast in three days as the ASEAN Tourism Forum, hosted by the Lao government, wrapped up in Vientiane.
The first blast took place on the evening of Feb. 4, near the Patouxay monument in the capital city of Laos. Lao officials blamed it on delinquent children who set off firecrackers. No deaths or injuries have been reported in both incidents.
