A high-ranking official of Laos' Ministry of Agriculture denies there are bird flu viruses in Laos, but acknowledges that chickens at one farm are affected by bird cholera, resulting in the destruction of hundreds of chickens.
Meanwhile, the government has banned poultry imports from Thailand and Vietnam, as a precaution against bird flu.
