Lieutenant Colonel Khambang Sibounheuang of the Tennessee State Guards talks to VOA about why he joined the Guards, his qualifications, his past tranining, and his current duties in Tennessee.
The former army captain for the Royal Lao Armed Forces resettled in the US in 1975. He has held many jobs related to the military and trained in several fields unrelated to the army, including teaching and law.
Besides being a member of the Tennessee State Guards, he has also served as a court officer since 1990.
