Saying it does not believe the trial of a Hmong-American and two European journalists in Laos served the cause of justice, the U.S pledges to explore all avenues to seek the return of its citizen.
Rev. Naw Karl Mua, a constituent of Minnesota's U.S Senator Norm Coleman's, was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison along with the two journalists whom he served as interpreter. An assistant of Senator Coleman says his boss is appealing to the Lao government for Rev. Mua's release on humanitarian grounds because of his health.
