Dr. Nafis Sadik, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan's top adviser on the killer disease, said that prejudice, a lack of open discussion and limited financial commitment are hindering efforts to prevent the rapidly growing risk of an AIDS epidemic in Laos.
She urged the government and aid organizations in the impoverished country to work to remove bigotry associated with HIV/AIDS.
