"The promotion of human rights, including religious freedom, is an integral part of our bilateral relationship," says Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Daley on US policy on Laos, adding that the US remains deeply concerned about Laos' poor human rights record and has made human rights an integral part of its ongoing dialogue with the Lao government.
Mr. Daley's comments were made in a recent testimony to the House International Relations Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific.
