Democratic Senator Mee Mous will represent Minnesotans for another four years, receiving 60% of the vote.
She was born in Laos in 1969, crossing the Thailand-Lao border to escape the communist government with her family at the age of five. They lived in a refugee camp before resettling in the United State in 1978.
She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in Rhode Island and her masters degree from the the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas in Austin. In addition, she has a juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School.
