Tom Rainbow, lead singer of the popular Thai band of the 1980's and early 1990's, recently released his all-Lao songs album. Tom returned after many years of absence from the entertainment scene to fulfill his life-long dream.
The Thai singer of Lao descent talks to VOA about the work behind the production of his latest album, which is a compilation of Lao classic songs, penned by Lao famous songwriters and singers such as Voradeth Ditthavong,
Keo Silavong, Sanong Ounvong, S. Sengsirivan and two new songwriters: Tiao Khamphay Kounlavouth and Dr. Khabkeo. Tom said he spent years to learn how to read Lao and sing karaoke to perfect his Lao accent.
