Health: Prostate Cancer Update


Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer for men worldwide. But while there has been a great deal learned about the disease, theories about what causes it and how to fight it can often be confusing.

Doctors recommend that men over the age of 50 undergo yearly testing for prostate cancer. That includes a blood test for what is called the Prostate-Specific- Antigen or PSA, which measures protein produced by the prostate gland. The higher the protein level, the greater the risk of cancer.

Scientists say red wine may provide some help in fighting off prostate cancer, and aggressive cancers in particular.
