This past weekend our music program featured Lao songs per audience requests. The first song, requested and dedicated by Ms. Meo of Virginia to Ms. Air Noi of Vientiane, “Mr. Hin Som” by the Lao PDR’s Over Dance Band is a combination of funky, hip-hop rhythm and Lao rap. It’s fun, it’s cute, and has been a hit in Laos and neighboring Thailand for many months now. It was even on the Thai pop chart!
The second song, “Champa Vientiane” by
Noi Sydanon was requested by Mr. Khammany Matthavong of the San Francisco Bay area. “Hou Va Hack Kan,” the last song, is also by Over Dance, the young and talented artists in the Lao, PDR. Audiences, please keep your requests coming to VOA-Lao Music Program so that VOA can satisfy your needs.
