Ban Huay Namkhao Hmong Child Dies of Suspected Foot and Mouth Disease

A Hmong toddler at Ban Huay Namkhao in Thailand's Phetchaboun province has died of suspected foot and mouth disease, while another sick child remains in critical condition. Meanwhile, the Fact Finding Commission reports that 354 more Hmongs have come out of the jungles and surrendered to Lao authorities because they could not enduring the hardship and starvation allegedly caused by the siege by Lao troops.

The Lao government had denied the reported surrender and the allegations that its troops have surrounded the Hmongs to force them into starvation.
