Thailand's Commerce Ministry reveals that Lao-Thai bilateral trade for the January-August period has a total value of US$1,025 million, with Thailand's Lao imports increasing more than 270% from the same period of last year.
The increase, totalling about $338 million, is a result of the tariff exemption granted to Laos' agricultural products.
For the same period, Laos imports goods worth more than $687 million from Thailand, resulting in a deficit of over $340 million.
