Laos, Vietnam, Thailand to Expand Cooperation in Seven Provinces

Laos, Vietnam and Thailand have agreed to cooperate to increase trade and tourism in seven of their provinces by making use of Route # 8 and Route # 12 in Laos, and to build a joint cultural center at Lak 20 (Km 20) in Laos' Borikhamsay province to use as a facility to facilitate their cooperation.

The agreement was reached during a meeting of the three nations' 10th Joint Commission of Cooperation, held recently in Laos' central province of Khammouane. The seven provinces include Laos' Khammouane and Borikhamsay provinces, Vietnam's Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, and Thailand's Nakorn Phanom, Nong Khai, and Sakon Nakorn.

Delegates to the meeting also agreed to add Vietnam's Quangbinh province to the Commission when they meet the next time in Nong Khai.
