More than ten thousands Lao high school graduates cannot persue higher education due to inavailability of slots and insufficient numbers of professors in both government and private universities. Meanwhile, Laos Prime Minister says the national educational infrastructure and quality are still inadequate.
VOA-Bangkok stringer says about 41,000 Lao students finished high school during the 2005-06 academic year, but Laos national universities and private college will be able to absorb less than 30,000 students for the coming school year.
