Legendary Lao crooner Koh Viset talks to VOA-Lao about his recent trip to Thailand, during which he signed a five-year contract with a Thai recording company. Earlier this year, his trademark song "Tai Dum Lum Phun" was made a soundtrack of the Thai TV movie "Khaen Lum Khong," and was heard all over Thailand and Laos.
The singer says the Thai company, RMS, now holds the copyrights to all the songs he has sung. He urges all those interested in singing or marketing his songs to contact him and get his permission first, and he will let the Thai company know.
Earlier this year, the veteran artist who currently lives in Mesa, Arizona, spent over three months in Laos and Thailand, where he recorded the first video album for the Thai company.
