61 year-old Phaitoon Malavan, a member of an anti-Lao Communist Regime group was killed Tuesday night at his home in Ubon Ratchathani Province, said Thai police on Thurday. He was a close associate of Sisouk Sayaseng, a suspected leader of the attack on the Van Tao checkpoint a few years ago.
Earlier. Thai police arrested two gun men that became prime suspects in the killing four months ago of a Lao-American couple who claimed to be Laotian prince and princess. According to the Thai police, the two gunmen admitted that they were hired by the Vientiane government and paid about 100,000 Baht for each person murdered.
