Laos Today: UXO-Lao Aims to Clear 18,000 Hectares of Land of Unexploded Ordnance in Next Ten Years

UXO-Lao, the organization in charge of getting rid of unexploded ordnance left over from the Vietnam war era, says its plan for the next ten years is to clear unexploded bombs and bombies out of some 18,000 hectares of land to make it arable and useable for agricultural purposes.

The main obstacle, however, is funding because grants from international donors are from year to year.
