Withus Lao Company Limited, owned by a South Korean businessman, has signed an agreement with the Lao government to build and operate a road and bridge connecting Hinheup to Xanakham in Vientiane province.
The road will be approximately 155 km long, with an investment cost of around US$129.5 million. The company will get its money back by collecting tolls over a 25- year period. Withus also received a concession to grow eucalyptus on a 15,000-hectare land and to build a timber processing plant.The two-project investment cost is estimated at US$150 millions.
